my #1 femme tip is to carry a plain black scarf everywhere if you can. tie it to your purse, put it in your bag, keep it in your car… just bring a clean one around:

• the reason i started doing this is for my friend who had her hijab ripped off in HS. i carried one so i could get her out of those situations more quickly and give her my scarf until we got home
  
• it’s also good for anyone in your crew who might be cold. people struggling with chronic illness often get cold far more easily than you’d think, plus other people might get cold, including you! 
• drape it up to cover stains, rips, or other wardrobe malfunctions
• in a pinch it can be wrapped around you as a top or skirt cover-up 
• there are honestly so many other good uses for a plain scarf like its a blanket, accessory, clothing item, shelter from the sun, whatever
